Identifying Strains

Hey guys, I've been coming here for a while now and I decided to pose a question to the experts.
For the past couple of years I've been chiefing, but I never really paid attention to what strain I was smoking. I was wondering if its possible to tell just by looking at a bud what strain it is? And if it is possible I'll post some pics of some buds I got and see if you guys can help me with the strain.imp:

Welcome to the boards, There is no way of telling what strain it is by just looking at the buds. Feel free to post pictures though

THe only way to tell is to grow ut yourself, or if you know the person who grew it.

thats not to say that certain buds dont have certain times of smells in them, or different types of colors of textures of bud, or certain tastes. i mean theres a lot of bud out there all different types and kinds, but i dont think you can count on looks for everything now a days. try reading THE CANNABIBLE by jason king, that shitll blow you a way. so you can try posting pics and someone may be all "oh hey that looks like a sativa" or "looks like a haze or something" i dont know...haha i hope i helped?

it is possible to look at a piece of bud and tell whether it's sativa, indica, hybrid. of course you must be extremely knowledgable about cannabis.
