Still, i would like to hear it. Why monotheism? Why is god such a standard? And so it seems that i have to answer my own question with my own theories...
1. Because judeo-christianity has depraved our culture, and is having a massive influence on peoples views on religious and non-religious things. This is a bad thing, and something must be done.
2. Peope choose theories that support the most positive possibilities and goodness, for therapeutic reasons. They choose to believe that everything just happens to be as awesome as they believe it is, and that the whole existance of the universe is based on one personality who is completely on YOUR side, and everyone elses, and that finally everything will be really really sweet and wonderful. They do this to increase the feeling of safety, yet seldom realize what it does to their ability to rationally judge things. The result at this moment: global warming. "Religion is the opiate of the masses", and people are abusing this opiate very effectively.
