Getting ready to start
I have the box its 2 X 2 X 3 with 2 to 4 30 watt CFLs at 5000K and 2000 Lumens each. Now I was wondering what I should use for ventilation I was thinking about making a carbon scrubber (If I can find plans). But could I let it circulate inside the box or do I need an outlet/ inlet holes with a fan / carbons scrubber / carbon filter on both? Also itā??s lined with foil and I will be using Miracle Gro potting soil with continuous release plant food (up to 3 months) going to try for 3 to 4 plants each in their own 1 1/2 gallon containers. Also thinking about SCROGing as well.
So hereā??s what I need from you tell me what you think and what I could change (minus the size of the box and type of lights) to get better production. What type of Nutrients do I need if any? And any information on SCROG you have.
All help is greatly appreciated...LifetimeSmoker Reviewed by LifetimeSmoker on . Getting ready to start I have the box its 2 X 2 X 3 with 2 to 4 30 watt CFLs at 5000K and 2000 Lumens each. You will need some way to exchange the air. Just think of yourself being locked in a car with the windows rolled up. Pretty uncomfortatble, and if it got too hot, you'd die. Same for you plants. The good news is that you only need a fan blowing out (better to have a fan blow out than in, if you really want a full explanation on why, I will type it out, I'm just feeling lazy right now.).
Because you are growing with limited height, learn to scrog. Its not that difficult to do. Go to your local graden store or home DePot and get some netting. The plastic type that people wrap small bushes with. Set the up using something simple to cover you plants. Eyescrews into the walls and then set up your netting on them is probably the easiest way.
Don't bother with the foil liner. You risk getting focused hot spots on your plants and burning them. Stick with plain white paint or upgrade to mylar.
One last word of advice is not to over complicate your grow. Too many new growers kill their plants by over attending them. Don't worry about too much when you start. You first goal should be to grow a plant from start to harvest. Once you have gained the skill and knowledge to grow the plant, then start experimenting with various nutrients, ph balancing, etc.
Hey, my first harvest was 12g. It was the best smoke I ever had, because I did it.
Good luck and happy growing!

Well i plan on using the not so shiny side of the foil and smoothing it out so it's will not focus the heat to one spot just reflect it to the plant... and some more info on SCROGing would be great...
