Heat convinces Robertson of global warming

    Courtesy of the EPA:

Cars release hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxide and carbon dioxide.

"Carbon dioxide, while not regulated as an emission, is the transportation sector's primary contribution to climate change. Carbon dioxide emissions are directly proportional to fuel economy--each 1% increase (decrease) in fuel consumption results in a corresponding 1% increase (decrease) in carbon dioxide emissions."

    Courtesy of the USGS:

"Large volcanic eruptions inject water vapor (H2O), carbon dioxide (CO2), sulfur dioxide (SO2), hydrochloric acid (HCl), hydrofluoric acid (HF) and ash (pulverized rock and pumice) into the stratosphere. CO2 is a greenhouse gas and contributes to global warming. HCl and HF can dissolve in water and fall to the earth as acid rain. Most of the SO2 is slowly converted to sulfuric acid (H2SO4), which condenses into a mist of fine particles. These sulfate aerosols reflect radiation from the Sun, cooling the troposphere; they also absorb the Earth's heat, warming the stratosphere. The aerosols also promote ozone destruction by altering chlorine and nitrogen chemical species in the stratosphere. As the aerosols settle down into the upper troposphere, they can serve as nuclei for cirrus clouds, further affecting the Earth's radiation balance. (figure modified from Richard Turco in American Geophysical Union Special Report: Volcanism and Climate Change, May 1992)"

Though I am confused as to the statement:

"Volcanoes blow out copius amounts of carbon monoxide and dioxide and tons of shit that factories put out."

Are you saying that volcanoes and factories create the same pollution? Just looking for clarification.
A list of what volcanos do not produce and which are produced by factories (actually just to narrow the list down I've only briefly listed the carcinogens):

Acetaldehyde, Acetamide, Acrylamide, Acrylonitrile, Aniline, Arsenic compounds, Benzene, Benzidine, Benzotrichloride, Benzyl chloride, Beryllium compounds, Bis(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate, Bis(chloromethyl)ether, Bromoform, 1,3-Butadiene, Cadmium compounds, Captan, Carbon tetrachloride, Chlordane, Chlorobenzilate, Chromium VI, Coke Oven Emissions, ,2-Dibromo-3-chloroprop, p-Dichlorobenzene, 3,3-Dichlorobenzidene, Dichloroethyl ether, 1,3-Dichloropropene, Dichlorvos, and the list goes on to include 56 more catagories of crap that factories put out everyday that we breath.

Interesting question. Do people believe that pollution is more of a threat than global warming?

One last fact courtesy of the World Health Organization:

"The World Health Organization estimates that 4.6 million people die each year from causes directly attributable to air pollution."

    The two go well together.
