I've got a Vapor Brothers vaporizer (around $150) and it works great. There is virtualy no smell. What smell there is doesn't smell like weed and certainly not like smoke. If someone walked into the room right after a vap session they might notice something but would have no idea what it was.

As far as smoking the bud afterwards, I've never tried it. I've always figured smoking the bud afterwards would kind of cancel the good things about vaping (no smell and better for you). If you are going to smoke after vaping why bother vaping at all?

The key is to get a good vaporizer. There are two types: the cheap $50 conduction vapes(BC Vaporizer) and the more expensive convection vapes like the volcano and Vapor Bros.

The cheap conduction vapes use a metal plate or bowl which heats up and supposedly vapories the thc. Problem is, only the weed touching the bowl will really get vaporized. They work but are not very efficient. You end up using more bud than if you smoked it. I bought one of these first and ended up throwing it away.

With the better, convection style, vaps hot air is drawn through the weed. This means that the heat is more evenly distributed throughout the bowl and all of the THC gets vaporized, not just what is touching the heating element. With these you'll use less bud than if you smoked it and, even after the initial investment, will end up saving money in the long run.
