cannabis boards ventrilo or IRC

well guys i was wondering if you would be interested in these things:

one: i can get us a server on a program called ventrilo. the program is free to download. essentially it's a program where you connect to a server (simple to do) and we can all use computer microphones to be able to talk to one another. yes, people stoned out of their minds from ALL AROUND THE WORLD can come and congregate. trust me ive used it for awhile for different purposes and it's a lot of fun when you have a good crowd. there can be multiple channels if you want to go somewhere queiter to talk to your friends or so

AND / OR


two: my second idea was to make an IRC channel for us. i don't know if there already is one because its common to a lot of forums, but this is another free program you can download and it is just a chat room. basically a live continuous forum thread. you've probably all used some sort of messenger im sure i dont have to explain this one

im thinking if i get 20 yes for either then i'll go ahead and make the vent server or channels

this is an opportunity to get to know people better from the cannabis site and strengthen the community greatly too

I have more experience with IRC than ventrilo (no experience, actually), so I'm all for the IRC concept.

A yes for both! I've always wanted an IRC, takes way too long for us dial-up users to get into the java chat.

yes for irc, much faster than the in built chat and will appeal to more people than ventrilo or teamspeak will.

i already have a server using Teamspeak RC2, i didnt post anything about it cuz ppl would have to download the (small) TeamSpeak 2 program, and i would also have to post the instructions on how to enter the server aswell as the IP, which is my own, so i'm not too comfortable with posting THAT on this site, especially after a number of... incidents where some spitefull ppl from here have been upto no good

but hey its a good idea and i'd be willing to download vent (i need to anyway, another site i go to uses vent and i only have TS2) if someone else was hosting the server

i use vent alot... i think it would be cool but IRC would prbably be mre popular
