    can uprating ur light output stress ur plants??

    ive bin growing for 3 weeks on 250w hps, ive just bought a 400w hps. can the higher light output shock your plants when you first use it? thanx

    I wouldn't have thought the higher light output would be a problem its not one I've found just watch the extra heat is all. Guessing you're planning to start it further from the plants than the 250 was and then lower it to a comfortable level anyway which I've always found works for me.

    The jump in lumens from 250 to 400 watts will not stress plants. And likely a 400watt light is a warmer red...which the plants would all too happy to utilize.
