Zinc-Plated Steel

I think its bad to smoke out of. Zinc has a low melting point it would probly melt with a lighter or at least give off some fucked up gasses and kill you. i wouldent do it

i thought this to be an interesting thought so i looked it up through google...
melting point is 787.15 °F and of steel 2750°F

so i wonder then if there is some way i could heat the metals enough to burn off only the zinc?? any thoughts?? do you know the temperature of a lighter flame?
