i dunno but u could heat it up with a lighter or somthing and if it made a funky smell like alminum does then maybe... but i dunno if normal metal would smell as well...

I think its bad to smoke out of. Zinc has a low melting point it would probly melt with a lighter or at least give off some fucked up gasses and kill you. i wouldent do it

if u had a blowtorch then it would melt the zinc off and make the steel red hot... a bunsen burner on max setting could also melt the steel but may be easier to get, just turn it low
i think tho it would be cheaper/safer/easier to just get a new piece

yeh know, i actually have a blowtorch, and the pieces that im concerned with do not constitute for the entire pipe, just a few small parts thereof but thanks for the idea, i think this is a good solution.

you do not want to make a pipe from galvanized metals. The zinc will powder at smoking temps and you will get it into your lungs.. Zinc is a "heavy metal" it can cause cancer and other poisonings.. I wouldnt do it....

Get a RayDiaTor. Mori Design makes them. The bowl, screen and tube are all made out of titanium, which oxidizes at even higher temps than steel. It's as close to glass as you can get while retaining the durability of metal. Here's a pic of mine, a RayDiaTor Triple. I love it!

im not smoking directly from theses pieces, they are just the connector pieces. Also i plan on using the torch to bring all the pieces that are coated to that nice red-hot glowing state in order to burn off the zinc.
