carbon filter set up
hey guys!
this is a pic of my set up, is this the correct location for a carbon filter, or should the filter go on the other end of the ducting?

No, thats fine, exactly right. Keep it up high to suck up the hot air. Next you should let a thermostat control it to be much more efficient. Set it at 80 or so. Helps save the fan, filter and electric.

Well the closer the blower is to the filter the better it will work. But from the looks of the pic it's a short run so you should not have problems the way you have it drawn.
It looks fine.

Looks good, but the 2 90 degree bends will reduce the fan efficiency..
Any way you could mount the filter farther over to the left, then add the fan inside the box, directly attached to the filter, and exhaust out the side?
My setup is very similar, except I have a cooltube in between the fan and filter, so the fan is being used for exhaust and cooling the light at the same timeWe CAN stamp out Glaucoma in our lifetime

thanks for the advice, theres not much i can do about the 90deg bends due to space but the duct lengths are pretty much in scale with the picture.
this is the description of the fan:
"The RVK series have been specifically designed and developed to deliver superior airflows with low noise levels when used in ducted installations where high system pressures are encountered (i.e. when used with carbon filters, grills etc). These features make the RVK series particularly suitable for demanding residential or commercial operations which may include multiple exhaust points, long duct runs and the requirement of large volumes of air."
and the filter:
"Budget carbon filters are just as effective at removing odour as a standard filter. However, they're non refilliable and need to be changed every 6-12 months. But at such low prices, this can actually work out very economical.
Budget carbon filter BF240 matches RVK 125-A1. To install, simply attach your ducting to the outlet on the carbon filter. "
