oh man....one of the coolest pictures ever: (its an old trick i know, but its so sweet)

go to some place high with a huge visible patch of the sky. also try to make sure you can see the north star. get a camera with adjustable shutter speed and aim it so the north star is in the picture of the sky. (id set your f stop either really low or in the middle). let the film be exposed for literally like 5 or 6 hours and youll see the stars form almost concentric circles around the north star which is stationary (as the earth rotates around its axis that points towards the north star). the white streaks with a stationary dot on a black sky is soooo cool
