In my experience 24/0 is a stress to the plants, as an unnatural condition, so they might grow faster, but they will miss "something"...
I would recommend you to switch to 18/6 ASAP, and don't worry about flowering! Rule of thumb is that flowering starts after a couple of 12-hour darkness periods, so you're not in danger.

I have heard of people switching without problems before. Also in nature the light cycle would change drastically before the plants started to flower anyways, so I figure it cant hurt indoor plants.

24/0 and 18/6 are in effect one and the same.
Both are the most commonly used time for vegging.
Apparently, 24/0 is the easiest (as you dont need a timer) and it speeds up plant growth
but the 18/6 apparently increases root development.
either way, your plants will not flower until you switch to 12/12, you may see "pre-flowers" which occur naturally before flowering begins, but that will be after a good couple of months.

i dont think that switching will be a problem cus both processes prevents the hormone for flowering and continues veg process. The plant flowers only when 12/12 is used. 18/6 keeps the plant at a steady hight and i heard it gives a better yield in the end.

switching from 24/0 to 18/6 is like being outside, it doesnt go 18/6 24/0 or whatever is going on outside to 12/12 in a day, so going to 18/6 is just like getting past summer soltice.
