    Sandwich Contest '06

If you haven't had a Vietnamese sandwich (banh mi), then you haven't had a REAL sandwich. Get the grilled pork, FTW.
west coast style Reviewed by west coast style on . Sandwich Contest '06 Ok Here is my Sandwich I am submitting. Not my best effort but I don't want to kill the competition and discourage youthfull sandwich makers. My Sandy has Turkey and Provalone, lettuce, and Red Wine Vinager and Oil. I give it a 7.0, but I am capable of making a 9.0, given the time and resources. Keep in mind only Moses can make a 10.0 Sandwich, because he has magic. Describe your best sandwich, pics are good. Rating: 5

Mmmmm, Vietnamese Sandwiches are awesome. Where in the Bay Area are you Bay Area? There's this plase near the Eastridge Mall, here in San Jose, called Cam Hung. They've got the best Vietnamese sandwiches around. My Vietnamese friends think so too. Got to watch out for those raw jalapenos though. Bite into one of those unexpectedly and your doomed.

Anyhow, my entry into the sandwich contest is a hot, open faced Italian sandwich. Take a loaf of Italian bread and cut it in half. Spread pesto mayonaise (1 part pesto, 1 part Italian salad dressing, 4 parts mayo) on it then layer with fresh tomato slice, hot capicola ham, sliced pepper coated turkey breast, then top with provolone. Put under the broiler for a few minutes until hot and the cheese is melted. Yummy.

as a viet i must say, i FUCKING love those sandwiches.
except the hot ones, omg if you bite into it, its 5 whole minutes screaming and bitching at the sandwich for being too hot.
advice is to take the peppers out.. BOTH of them. i accidentally missed one once, that put me off sandwiches for a while.
    woohoo for viet sandwich.

Actually, I love the peppers that they have on them, but that's cuz I love everything spicy.. I also put sriracha sauce on it for good measure.

I'm in the East Bay (925), but I usually go out to Oakland Chinatown to get some. banh mi + pho = paradise.

    Nice Sandwich

I love sandwiches you get when you go new places, like in Chicago with the Italian Beef Sandwich on a roll with roasted peppers, very tasty.

That Veitnam Sandy looks awesome too, can you make it at home?

here is a recipie for a peanut butter and cannabis sandwich:

take a good amount of cannabis (about 2 grams) and grind it up finely. sprinkle in with sufficient peanut butter; enough to absorb the weed. next, cook the peanut butter on a low heat in either the microwave or on the stove. make sure you don't heat it up too hot! cook for about 6 minutes... finally, spread the drug-laced peanut butter onto your favorite kind of bread. finish it off with whatever you like; bananas, whatever. eat it up and make sure you don't have anything else going on for the rest of the day.
Could these sensations make me feel the pleasures of a normal man?

Haha, as I said earlier... I love the jalapenos... And the place I go to in Oakland is called Cam Huong. I have their number in my cell phone so I can call and order 10 minutes before I get there =)

Whenever I'm in San Jo, I'll try that spot near the Eastridge Mall. I'll probably be visitin' my friend in SJSU a lot this upcoming semester, so I should be out there pretty often.

As far as making it at home, you probably can.. although next time I'll take a more thorough look at all the different ingredients. But the thing is, they're only like $2-3 dollars each, so I'll usually buy 2 sandwiches for about $5 and I'm set for a while.

I think your Can Huong and my Cam Hung are probably the same thing. I know the one I go to is a chain so I probably misspelled it. Yeah, the price on these is the best part. Especially when you compare what you get at a Subway for $6 to what you get at a Viet sandwhich place for $2 .
