I mod at a site called Howard Forums and all we do is talk cellphones. I only moderate the in the lounge nowadays b/c work got too busy and when new phones get released, it gets crazy over there. But check it out, it's free, and there's A TON of great information in regards to hacking various phones.

I'm more of a tech head so I tend to go with the high-end stuff. I have Verizon Wireless; I started with the v710 and a Aircard 555. The Aircard let you access the Internet wirelessly. I used to trip people out on trains and buses by jumping on the net from my laptop.

Shortly after that, they introduced the Audiovox/UTStarcomm XV6600. This is built like a PDA (like an iPaq, sorta) but acted as a phone. As a phone, it sucked. But, I could connect that wirelessly to my laptop to get on the Internet and b/c it was a PDA, I installed all kinds of cool apps and games.

Now I'm currently using the Treo 700w and I'll probably stick with that for a while. It works great as a phone and supports bluetooth headsets. It can't connect wirelessly to the internet, but using a cable, I can still connect...minor inconvience. But again, since its a PDA, I have all kinds of apps installed...I get weather updates, I check out websites, I listen to music, I watch movies, I have navigation (TomTom) installed on it, I listen to Internet radio, and as soon as I get cable, I'll be getting a SlingBox which will let me stream TV from my cable connection to my Treo. I can do more with my Treo than most people can do with a full office.
