In making weed brownies, I realize that you need to heat up the weed to activate the THC, but what does this do? By activating the THC, does it waste any?
Also, if you make weed brownies, how long are they good for? As they get older, do they lose potency?
When making the brownies, I know that many people cook their weed into either butter or oil? Will it work just as well if you just grind up your weed and put it into the brownie mix?

Well to answer one of your questions. No, I don't believe it would work as well if you just put your ground bud into a mix. I think you'd be able to have much more potent brownies by making bud butter and then adding that to the mix. Check the recipe section.

put about a stick of butter and as much weed as you want into a pot of boiling water... boil for 2 hours, refrisgerate, skim butter off the top of the water, add to brownie mix, mix thoroughly

Ok, even if you don't get all the thc that you'd normally get from smoking, you get most of it, and as the thc gets metabolized in your liver it turns into a even more potent psychadelic drug (very similar to thc) and the high becomes slightly different and a little more intense.

Nvr tried brownies before, but i have heard very good things about them and have seen some of my bro's get extremley ripped at lunch at school with em.. lol good times :stoned:

Activating thc with heat is A DAMN LIE. When extracting the thc with oil or alcohol, heat increases the amount of thc that can be extracted per unit of solvent and the rate of extraction. When people say they get higher from eating weed after it has been heated, they are, but that is because it breaks down the cell walls of the weed and this speeds up the digestion of the thc. The best way to take thc orally is to extract it into oil or alcohol first. Keeping it in this solution will also aid in digestion.

Ok as long as Im shooting down stupid rumors. Yes thc does get metabolized by your liver but the resulting compound is also abbreviated thc (not delta-9-thc anymore) and is completely non-psycoactive. Some of this compound gets stored in fat cells. This is why weed gives a short high but can still be tested for long after other drugs with short highs cannot be.
