Clone on 12/12?
I took a cutting from a female and since I have only 1 growing area, which is small anyway, i was wondering if its OK to have the clone on 12/12. I know its best to keep it on a 18/6 but thats not possible for me right now.
So basically when the clone matures it willl start to flower on its own since its already on 12/12? Correct me if iam wrong guys. Thanks.TokinBaby Reviewed by TokinBaby on . Clone on 12/12? Clone on 12/12?
The simple solution is to stick them somewhere isolated. The cheapest base lamp ya can find at a Wal-mart type store (theres a nifty $5, compact one there)...plus a 14 watt cfl in drawer, under a bed, sink, pretty much anywhere depending on how large a whatever you're nursing the clone in.
Even a thing like a small propagation tray and hood can be slid under a bush somewheres and get all the light it needs to develop roots and recover.
I did mine in a shaded porch.

But you didn't ask that did you.
What sort of light to do you have available to clone by? You're intending to use your grow light yes? Are you cfl or hps?

well i can't stick it anywhere else...it has to be done in side the same grow space......iam using a 30w 6000k bulb directly placed over the clone for 12/12 right next to the mother which has 2 80w 3000k placed directly over it...
...i just want to know if i will get enough bud for personal use

Clone on 12/12?
Dude, sorry to tell you this but you really need to get that clone out of 12/12. Your little clone trapped in a flower cycle isn't going to get you anything. A new clone needs to spend its energy making roots and developing vegetative matter, but the 12/12 cycle is going to send it a false message saying "make flowers!" which it wont be able to support due to its small mass. Can't you take it out and put it on a windows ledge or something?

Get it and the light you're going to use seperated. Cardboard boxes, dividers...look around, be resourceful, keep and eye on the temp of the space, don't let either areas light touch the other when only one of them is on, as in, none of the light during the longer hours of your clone grow can hit the mother and keep her awake too long, get a timer, or be ready and able to turn off the lights yourself....leave what you rig temporary for room to be expanded later. Count on it as the clone grows.
And for all that trouble...just for a single clone...I'd go ahead and germ me up a seed, far as it will be concerned, life as normal till its able to begin determining it's sex.
