    Dresser problem

So...I came up with this plan, following an earlier post to turn my dresser into my first growth attempt. At this point, i'm still in the planning stages...

It's just a regular wood dresser, like the other dresser thread, but smaller. dimensions:
    26.5x15x23.5

And....that's all I have so far, if I could get a walkthrough the rest of the way [as far as materials go], that would be sweet.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

get some mylar to cover the area..iam assume your using CFL's right?....Get something like a shelving braces to screw in on the top so it can hold your light and as well as adjust it........a small fan for ventalation.........after you remove the bottom of each drawer, it may have a brace in the middle....remove it b/c it will be easier to tend to your plants....thats all i can think of right now....hope that helps

Would it help if i got some pictures in place? [i'll get to that ASAP]

CFL's are definitely an option, probably around...100W due to size.

er..if i remove the middle brace how are the shelves going to stay up? i still have shirts and boxers in there...

    *edited wattage.

what I did was take a long screw and screwed it in to the back of the dressor where it is aligned with the middle of the drawer....that way you can prop the back of the drawer on top of the screw...make sure the screw is long enough to catch the back of the drawer.....or you can use your imagination and come up with something better...i was really high at the time and had to think of something real quick...

    Dresser problem

I recently seen everyone using computer fans as ventilation well i had a normal oscilating fan that was loud and didnt really fit anywhere so i had the idea of taking apart this old useless computer for its fans and i ended up emptying out all the chips, wiring everything that didnt hav to do w/ the fans working, i ended up with a main stream of wires coming from where out plug wire connects to PC at and hooked all 3 fans up to it easily no adding or taking any wires away complex thing just plugged em in to it and set em up

the thing is even though i found 2 do that was really easy i dont kno that much about computers so i wuz wondering to ask sum1 who does could this establishment be dangerous ?

I put this idea on another thread u can try it 2 for your ventilation i hav an almost exact dresser just as yours i didnt hollow the drawers tho i left one in the bottom put plastic on the bottom of the drawer put two fabrics thingys down to absorb water spills i have a tube flouro hanging on right side using nails and same on left and one 150 watt flouro w/ good reflector on top
i dont feel lyk typing my whole shit up but if your interested in it just post sumptin back and i'll try 2 help u avoid or surpass obsticals i faced with the same set up
and im assuming your starting w/ sum bag seed?

If your running those fans off you CPU Powersupply, You could be wasting alot of energy. Some CPU power supplys can get up to 500W.

You might be better off going this way...

Even bigger - friend of mine just built a new computer...with a 600 watt power supply! Man, I thought my computer had a big power supply (at 450 watts), but 600, jeez! I thought they were trying to make computers MORE energy efficient, but apparently that's not necessarily true.

    thanx thats good 2 kno

do u think two more 24 watt cfl's could fit in my space and electricity not be too high or a little steep in outake from the outplug i dotn want any fire hazards
i have a 42 (real watt) but says 150 watt flouro clamped above, on left side a 20 watt tube, on other side same already in there
and those fans coming along if they matter
this thread has been real beneficial to my room

well.. high performance computers for gaming and other media need more watts for their parts. theres also 650, 660, 680, 700, 750, 850, 875, 1000, etc.. higher than that like 1500 are for networking (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...078767&CatId=0)

however, with older computers, salvaging one of their power supplies might be optimal... an early 90's computer can be 300w or less
