    new grower...

    hey all...
i've been researching for last 6 months or so and decided to finally start my first grow.

I started of with some bagseed. Then, I used the paper towel propagation method. Took about 2 days and my seeds were ready with 1/2 taproots. I had soaked rockwell cubes in 6ph water the night before. Put the seeds in about a seeds length down with root facing down. Got some sprouts about 2 days later using small humidity dome i set up. Put under 13 w ott grow light 3inches from plants on 24/7. I have been putting my 1000w mh on for about an hour a day. Is this ok for seedlings? Pic i will show is about a week after planted. No nutes have been used thusfar.

My plans are to grow out and sex plants. Find a healthy mother and take clones from her. I have a Hydro set up that includes: 20 gal tuperware res with pond pump pushing nuted water through 360 degree heads about 4 inches under netpots. I have 8 3" netpots for setup with hydrotron as medium. My ecs/tds meter is on backorder and should be here way before i start hydro setup. Also have temp gauge with rh on it. Nutes include: Bc Bloom and Boost, superthrive, and a 10-15-10 plant food from hd. Also have ph testers and ph up and down. Closet is about 3'X2'X5' with same amount on other side for air movement. I have a center divider with 1' gaps on top and bottom. Two 4" fans blow across 1000w toward open area with boxfan to exit air from closet. Room will be locked and is in a basement. Temps range from 65 to 90. All electrical including ballast on this side. Looking for advice on way to cool down even more. Not looking to spend a lot because already over budget.

Any help with this project would be appreciated. I can post more pics or answer q's about setup.

Hey...nice start...expect that some of those younglings don't make it. Expect set-backs, expect to ditch what you read in favour for what you experience.

90 degrees is going to slow your plant growth. You've either got to get the air out faster, or add CO2.

In my opinion, 1000w is too much for your little seedlings. If you see them try to turn away from the light...thats why. For the first several weeks, seedling are perfectly happy with CFL's or small HID's.
