Yep, why turn a dense nug into shake if you're smoking it in a bowl? Just leave all that crap in there, stems got THC in them too, no use letting them go to waste, no matter how harsh they are to smoke. The only thing you should be concerned about is the seeds, they pop when heated(when it happens it's called a hippy bomb), it's actually pretty cool, but seeds contain no THC and give some people a headache.
