i'd say no more than 3... and i would make your room a bit smaller. you want a good 50w or more per sqft to get a good crop

maybe you could make your room 1'x3' and grow 3 plants taking up 1sqft so they get adaquite(sp?) light, but that also depends on what you're planning on growing. sativa or indica?

175 watts will get ya started sure...won't do ya much good as they mature. You'd have to move the light around all the damn time to keep the plants from wondering where the sinshine went off to.

175 watt MH is somewhere in the ballpark of 13-15k lumens.

yea...you should buy a HPS when you flower, for the reddish colour spectrums in it, MH bulbs carry a high blue spectrum which is good for veg but need reddish yellow for budding...

175w MH um... in High Times magazine they say you can successfully grow 8-15 plants under a 250w HPS...so I'd say 6-12 or so... correct me if i'm wrong, but i'm just going alogn with what High Times said

you could do 6-10 if they are clones (b/c their heads are at the same level, and they are smaller) or 2-3 regular full grown plants (20 inches and higher) I'd shoot for 3, that way if one is male, you'll be left with two, which is a better number for that light.

    hahaha.. yes, blue ricordia!
Thanx guys. I definetly will look into a 400W setup then. I could make the 4x4 space smaller by adding a second section for flowering only, maybe the 175's would work.. I was just hoping to use stuff I already had..

DO you guys have any reccomendations on bulb brands preference or K ratings?
I was thinking MH around 5600K would be ideal for Vegging, but I wouldnt know where to go for HPS bulbs...

its a very natural transition from reefing to reefer!
