    Ultraviolet Radiation from HIDs...

Hey guys, have you heard about this issue?
It's a serious one as I understoond, just googled some articles... OMG.
What do you think about it?

And how do you do all the things in you grow place under the lights?
I mean do you put any sunblock, sunglasses, or something to keep you secured from that radiation?

PS: maybe you think I'm paranoid, but it's really interesting... imp:

You're not paranoid...just not realizing that the glass of the bulb filters damaging UV rays. Most manufactures take it a step further in their agriculture grow lights by applying an additional coating on the inside of the bulb.

Add a another piece of glass ala a cool tube or hood if its that much a of concern to you.

Wrap your head in tin foil before you enter the grow room if lights are on. I am j/k.

Thanks for the info! Btw, found several (it was just a glance, in reality there are hundreds and even more - I'm sure) articles where people got severe injures from broken or bad MH lighting. People at the work, children at gym and so on and so on...

most modern HID lamps self extinguish if the outer shell gets cracked (they burn themselves out) so don't worry.
