Anyone using a cab. like this to grow?

These are 72"H x 36"W x 18"D. If you (have) use(d) this or a space of similar dimensions, let me know your experiences!

So long as you modified one to have proper ventilation and such ... I would expect those to be just fine! Well, wait wait ... are they wood or metal?

Very similar to my first setup. I used a 150W HPS and 70W MH (dual spectrum rules FTW!) metal should work fine, although be a little tougher to cut the holes for ventilation - Is the inside painted white? I got it to average about 200G from 2 plants every ~ 65 days. Separate chamber for cloning/veg so it was always running. Once you know how the plants grow you'll be able to maximize the space. Heat was an issue at first, but a 140cfm bathroom fart fan cut into the side of the cab fixed that

I just bought a smaller wood cabinet similar to this design. For growing I will be putting this together soon I will post some pictures. As I go. Right now I am trying to plan out my ventilation as I want to make 2 seperate rooms in one small cab.

Im gonna work on Ventilation first then come up with some ways to block light. SO my flowing plants wont be affected by the plants growing.

Ill let you know how it goes. I am hoping for this to work decent. Its 60 x 30 x 17

My big cab is similar, but it's a bit wider: 72"h x 47"w x 20"d. And it's wood. I'd avoid metal unless you have the tools to cut the metal to provide ventilation and a hole for power. Actually, I'd just avoid metal, even if I had the tools to work with it; just seems like it'd be a whole lot harder than working with wood. But size-wise, that's fine for a few plants.

Any pics of your setup jam? Wut's the largest HID bulb you'd put in a cab that size? Are air-cooled reflectors effecient enough to allow a larger one?

Here's my cab. Contains a 400 watt HPS (digital ballast is on top shelf), Hortilux bulb, plus eight warm 30-watt CFLs (two sets of four bulbs). And 400 is the largest I'd use, especially with the smaller-sized box shown in original post of this thread. Dunno about air-cooled reflectors; I use a cooltube, works great.

can you pull the warm air in the cab around the plants straight thru the cool tube (& c.filter) and vent all out w. one fan? or should you have 2, one for the light, and one filtered for the cab?

If you don't use co2, one fan is enough.
