Actually we could vote them all out in 18 years. The house of representatives can all be voted out every two years. And 1/3 of the Senate can be voted out every 6 years.
The Judges will be the big problem.
But the point is the reason my our country is going to shit is that no more than 54% ever get their asses out and vote.

If my memory serves me correctly, the merge of Coprorations and government is faschism. 8th grade social studies i think.

I dont think there can be any argument that the big bussiness corporations are deeply embeded in our government. And in doing so influence the actions of our elected officials.

I would say that our government is more fashist than democratic.

This cannot be allowed to take place any longer.

Whether anyone wants to admit to our government being facist or not doesnt really matter to me, because in that thread most of the suggestions to fix our government center around getting private funds out of the hands of those running for election. Also, mind you, setting more checks and balances like term limits for the congress and senate. All are geared at getting the coruption we all know is in our government, out of our government.

Problem I see with this is that doing this is not in the best interests of those running for offices, and those running for offices are the ones that will make the rules.

I'm sure you see the paradox.

I think our last chance to do this was when Ross Perot ran for office, if i remember correctly one of the things he was going to do was election reform, the other was tax the shit out of everyone, but equally across the board, no tax breaks for the rich. I was a bit young when he ran, so if im incorrect please dont flame me for it.
