i dont know how true it is but ive heard from many many pot smokers that dro is a lot worse for you than normal bud... it's not natural at all besides the plant growing. the water is different which could be it.

i just went on a trip to new york with some buddies. my friend got 2 pounds of hydro and he gave me 2 oz's free just because i drove and paid for all of the gas there. (i'm in new stanton pa, 45 min east of pittsburg) best 6 hour drive of my life.

Your mom was probably referring to hydro as not "natures" way of growing, which it isn't. It's a somewhat complicated system using no soil to grow. The use of water and chemical nutes, commonly.
Hydro doesn't mean it is super great pot. It doesn't create more potent smoke than organic soil grown. Hydro is good for spitting out mass amounts of cannabis in shorter periods of time. That's all it is, with a fancy name that came from Hydroponic gardening.
