Does cloning improve potency?
A friend of mine said that every time you clone a plant, the clone will be more potent than the original. Is this true - it doesn't sound right to me.
I could be wrong, but I told him that the reason clones are more potent is because they're taken from the best parents and the quality improves over several generations.
So the question is: Do successive generations of clones get more potent due to the act of cloning itself or is it only because of the selective cloning of the best plants? Or is it both reasons?MidnightToker54 Reviewed by MidnightToker54 on . Does cloning improve potency? Does cloning improve potency?
Same genetics so why would potency be effected? If potency is improving over generations, other factors are likely the reason, such as selection.

Does cloning improve potency?
I have read in advanced-type grow books, that there is usually a SMALL bit of potency lost on clones, compared to the mother plant ... I have no firsthand knowledge of this ... :smokin:

Does cloning improve potency?
All other factors the same, potency will be the same since genetics are unchanged. But improper cloning, or anything that creates stress, is going to hurt your results. So make sure your clones are healthy and have good roots before flowering them.
