Would you rather have some trees cut down and gas to drive with?? Or keep trees (which we have plenty of) and not be able to drive?? Personally I say we can cut down some trees... just plant the same amount in another part of the country or whatever... sucks for the animals.. but hey.. only the strong survive.

Or perhaps you'd rather have the 50% of you gross domestic product sunk into looking for better forms of fuel and education so the next generation of US citizes are mentally equiped to deal with this, as opposed to plouging it into defense. You know, defense; when you protect yourself from others. Who protects people from you btw?

As a brit, I say your presidents a fool, and theere is no need for a pledge like that as it assumes too much. Such hypocracy...land of the free, so long as you beleive this, say this, do this, dont do this, and then let us tap your phones in the name of national security.

If it weren't for the government oyu would probably be dead... Government keeps society functioning... if there was no government everyone would be killing each other, stealin from each other, and generally ruining everyone else's lives... saying the pledge has nothing to do with church and state... they aren't forcing religion upon anyone... And no they haven't fucked us over.. they have helped us over and over again.. welfare/military/medicade/medicare/goverment housing etc...

The government certainly does not keep society functioning, it keeps society oppressed, as does organized religion. Without the government people everyone would be killing each other, this is a point so many people that oppose anarchy use, but it is absolutely wrong. If a law was passed saying it is legal to kill people, would you or your friends go out and take people's lives just because you will serve no time, if so you're a sick fuck man.

Anarchy, and maybe socialism or communism are the only ways to have an overall good society. amerika's government supports capitalism, which exploits, third world countries, and only helps the rich get richer, while keeping the poor at the bottom.

If there was no government or religion there would not be chaos, there may be an extremely short rise in crime, but then soon after this would be peace, and people would learn to live with each other, and help each other survive, instead of trying to make more money then them and have the newest SUV or 10,000 dollar Rolex.
