Are there any colleges where they have any radio broadcasting classes?
Ya well im 19, soon to be transfering out of of community college and i want to transfer to an accredited university/college that has radio broadcasting as a major. AND NO i do not want to enroll in those radio broadcasting schools like "westwood" or something, i want to goto a well credited school you know? Hopefully after that i can get an intership with a radio station(hopefully satilite radio)
The question is, are there any colleges that have a good radio program? i came here cause i know a lot of yall love music, so maybe someone might know.

I found a couple for rastabill, a while ago. They have programs in most of the Hampton Roads cities and more, but, I wasn't looking for them.

you should go to college for an education.
talk radio doesn't require a phd or a degree, just hot air and guts!
I'm sure the radio station you are hoping to work for has an intern program.
you've gotta work for em like two years as an intern (for free) if you wanna move up the ladder and get on air.

One thing to try is go to the library or bookstore and look for a book of scholarships, internships, and fellowships. A good number of those are associated with a particular school and you might find some money to put towards it and some work experience to boot.
...I said my piece, so now, I hush.

Most good-sized four-year universities with colleges of arts and sciences have some sort of radio-TV-film programs. The easiest way would be to make a list of all the universities in the geographical area where you'd like to study, where you can afford to go, and where you can gain admittance. Then start researching their radio-broadcasting offerings by looking at their catalogs on their Web sites.
Down here in Texas, the University of Texas and University of North Texas both have big broadcast training programs. I'm certain Texas A & M and Texas Tech have them, too. I'm sure UVA has one in your part of the country. If you're like most people, the decision is going to be driven partly by where you can get in and where you can afford to study. Then you can narrow your options down by choosing the specific broadcasting program from that group.\"That best portion of a good man\'s life: his little, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and love.\"

Oreo, after seeing your picture on that other thread, I think you ought not to rule out TV broadcasting. You have good looks that could take you very far in that industry if it interests you.

I love radio as a past time. I am a certified Radio Amateur operator. Haven't been so for very long and i'm only a beginner to the wider subject. I ent to hot with radio broadcasting perse but the hobby side of radio communications can be very interesting; though my view is biased cuz I had and used a CB radio since 1989; sometimes still do, and have worked for a specialist covert surveillance company with interesting radio equipment.

Spirit Level, why do they call amateur radio HAM? I've always wondered that.
