flamingskullballs Reviewed by flamingskullballs on . Any photographers here? Any photo heads around? Pro, amateur, semi, whatever? I'm thinking of seriously delving into it. I never really had the time, aside from when I was younger, to really explore. I have an old Canon AE-1 that my father gave me years ago. I need to get some work done it on it though. THen I have a Minolta Maxxum 370si which I've used here and there. I'm shopping for lenses for this one as I only have a basic 35-70 for it. I'm trying to find something (lense) with a good all-around range and Rating: 5

flamingskullballs stop bashing digi in your posts, theres ups and downs to each medium, i prefer film myself but some of the stuff you spout is nonesense about digital.

ontopic im a photography student and have been taking copius amounts of film over the summer and also recently discovered how well my dslr reacts to nighttime conditions, im dissapointed in the recent lack of hot weather as well in the uk as im half way through a roll of infa red.

    I enjoy taking pictures.

I have my dads old Canon picture that I use to download pics on here. I have another digital video camera, and digital still picture cam., that I use for other uses. The reason I don't use the mini digi cam is because I don't have the software on here, and well, I'm too lazy and I have the other cam that I use on here.

Here are a few local shots about 8km from my place.

ok ok ok...digital is cool in SOME ways

my main problem with it is the price

cameras are too pricey now days

not paying $1000 for a camera

Photography has been my main hobby for many years. I first got hooked when I took a class back in high school and after that took a couple of semesers in college. Right now I've got a Nikon 6006, Nikon N-90, and a Nikon D-100. I'm planning on getting one of the new Nikon D-200's if they ever start shipping into the U.S. I also bought a set of studio style strobes a while back

I like film, especially black and white, but tend to mostly use digital for the convenience and low cost. I say low cost because, even after buying a $1500 digital, if you shoot a lot you end up paying a lot less for every good pic. I will typically get one out every 20 pics that I'm satisfied with. This is pretty much the same with pro photographers too. For every picture that you see in some photogarphy book, that photographer has a ton more that went into the trash. With digital I can just shoot away without having to worry about film and developing costs.

Anyhow, here's a few I've taken of my daughter and some from my last vacation. I've also started to take macro shots of buds when I get some nice ones. There's a link at the bottom to my bud shots.
