I'm pretty sure a few sure swings of an axe will take one down pretty quickly. They're very agile creatures, and they DO have a retractable claw, but it was only about 4 inches long. The reason why velociraptors were any good at bringing down larger prey was that they hunted in packs. They were also very smart animals, too.


Other speices of raptors are like that, but fossil records show that velociraptor was between 6-8 feet high, 300+ pounds.
