Even if he did win that election, (which i think is debatable) the only reason he got more votes than ever, is because there were more votes than ever total. (probably due to the media frenzy stirring up debate amongst people who are politically ignorant.) Besides, roughly 50% of the vote sure as fuck isn't a mandate.
