I think he is trying to indicate that the Lebanese want freedom perhaps due to influence from Iraq and Afghanistan or the prime minister resigning out of fear of American occupation or something.
However, this only goes to show military invasions, war and loss of life are not necessary if the people have courage to voice themselves.

you dont know what your talking about. the protests in lebanon happened because the syrian backed goverment is believed to have been involved in the assasination of a popular opposition political leader. as well as a show of resentment of the fact syria has its military in their country and has alot of influence in their goverment.

you seem to be implying this happened because of the u.s's involement in iraq and it was soley done for the sake of democracy, both inaccurate. it'd be fairer to say if the protests were influenced by anything it would be the peaceful protests in the ukraine. and they are being staged less for democracy and more for national soveriegnty.

you also seem to imply the syrian backed goverment resigned due to some fear of u.s involvement, fear of a civil war would be alot more accurate.
