Thanks President Bush.....
NowhereMan, really, no need for all the insults.
But my point is that the reason you give, wanting to stop Saddam, is not a valid reason at all, it's a smoke screen, a sham, public relations, and I'm afraid you've fallen for it, as have many Americans. I speak in all honesty when I say I'm NOT anti-American, I love the States, the American culture, hell, New York is the greatest city in the world if you ask me, it's just that your government has been lying to you and manipulating you for a long long time, and even more ever since Bush came in.
The rhetoric of 'freedom and democracy' would be valid, if only the US tried to apply it everywhere, not just Iraq. Let's look back at how this whole thing started, shall we? 9-11 happened, and the hunt for Bin Laden is on, the US and many other countries (including Canada) send forces into Afghanistan to root out the Taliban, the government which is supporting Bin Laden. Well, it worked to a certin degree, the Taliban was ousted, a new 'democratic' government runs Afghanistan, but we still didn't find Bin Laden. Then, FOR NO REASON WHATSOEVER, the talk shifts to Iraq. No one ever mentions the atrocities of Saddam against his people, only that he's hiding WMDs and hiding Bin Laden, even though it was a well-established fact the he and Bin Laden had no relationship whatsoever.
It's called a diversion. Shift the attention of the people in one direction, so that they don't see what's going on the other side. Sort of like when some goes, "hey! look over there!" and then runs away.
I will say that Saddam Hussein was a monster of a man, that is not in question. But just sit down a minute and think for yourself, don't listen to the media (mouthpieces for the government, all of them). Why so gung-ho about Saddam, when so many other governments have done the same, if not worse, to their people, yet there was no action on the part of Americans to help anyone? I think it's because there's nothing worthwhile economically for the US in Cambodia, it's mostly jungle. There's nothing worthwhile economically in the Sudan or Rwanda, it's in Africa (nobody cares about Africans, there not as evolved as us, right?) (I won't say anything about Stalin because American policy in the 30s was different than today's, also the US was busy trying to build its own empire in central America to compete with the British and French.)
Stop repeating what the media is telling you, and think for yourself. You don't need any sort of special knowledge, the facts are hidden there all along, just remember the chronology of events, and you'll see it makes no sense at all.F L E S H Reviewed by F L E S H on . Thanks President Bush..... For doing your best to protect my family from those wanting to cut my head off just because I have a difference on religion. For going after them first before they grow stronger to some day, wipe our great planet with a WMD. For taking the fight to them instead of having my home land in defense mode 24/7 and allowing me to know when my wife and daughter goes to the mall, they will in most case return. Thanks President Bush for putting a team in place that has the interest on a better tomorrow Rating: 5Peter: [writing letter] Dear MacGuyver, Enclosed is a rubber band, a paper clip, and a drinking straw.
