Hey! newb question:first time gone wrong

HEy everyone!
I'm new! I just started smoking weed a week ago, but I didn't get high until this weekend. I have a question though... I was smoking it in my bathroom to make sure I'd get high this time, but a little after finishing my joint, my heart rate sped up like mad and I felt like my heart was beating out of my chest. What's up with that??? Anyway, I was freaking out, I thought i was having a fuckign heart attack and I got my mom to bring me to the hospital, I was so scared. The doctor told me I was ok tho.. Anyway, what was up with that? Was that normal? Is it because I put tobacco in there or because I had too much for my first time? Was the pot too fresh? I want to smoke more pot but I'm scared now...

i have no idea.. were you paranoid at all? sometimes when i smoke in my house i get really paranoid and my mind starts to race along with my heart.. and i start to sweat.. maybe it could have been that?

Let me see if I can clear this up for you.

Because THC is absorbed through the lining of the lungs, your blood pressure will naturally increase. This is your body's reaction to a sudden pollution of the lungs. It's a fight or flight response, it's adrenaline. Not only that, but the first time you smoke you get so worked up, your heart rate increases naturally. Sometimes so much it seems like you didn't even get high.

The reasons behind this don't really matter, but getting the "high" you expect isn't quite so easy to describe. You don't really "get" high, you just realize that you're already high. I don't really know how to explain this part.

Here's what I suggest doing.. Go into your bathroom, and smoke with the fan on and some incense (joss sticks) lit. Lock the door and sit down somewhere, so you won't get dizzy or get a "whitey" (drop in blood sugar due to adrenaline. Feels like you're gonna pass out or puke. If this happens, sit down and drink a soda. You'll be fine.) After you smoke, go sit down and listen to some music. (Jimi Hendrix or Cream are best, but whatever works for you.) Just try to observe the feelings you get, and enjoy the buzz. Your body will tingle, you'll think more creative and colorful things, and you'll just feel really good, sometimes almost giddy.

Just chill out and enjoy the effects, don't worry about getting caught.
If someone asks you (like you parents) why your eyes are red or you're scatterbrained, say you have a headache. You'll be fine.

Basically, just relax and enjoy the smoke, don't get too paranoid and remember you're smoking to enjoy it. Your heart rate will increase, but it goes back after a little while. You're not gonna have a heart attack. Nobody in the WRITTEN HISTORY OF TIME has died from smoking bud, so you don't really have anything to worry about.

And if you decide to not smoke again, you can send me whatever you have left, and I'll do some tests to make sure it's good bud. Purely scientific, of course.

lol the hospital i know... I thought I was dying and was scared shitless, what can I say. In my defense, it was my mom's idea. And I think bogart bitch was right. I got a little paranoid too.

lol hehe...what the fuck did u tell the doctor lol! That shits happened to me before...but i was out in the woods so there was shit i could do about it. I just sat it out and then i got chilled out again pretty quick.

also, doi agree mello, that u dont feel urself getting high. You just realise it.

Chill, I've had that before, especially when I use my vaporiser-usually happens if you do too much too quickly. Just chill, listen to music, watch a film, it'll pass. Doesn't have to be anything to do with paranoia/polluting your lungs-the whole idea of a vaporiser is that you don't.

It happens because the weed lowers your blood pressure, so your heart has to work harder to pump the blood around. Happens in all of us to some degree when we smoke, most of the time we just don't notice.
