Re: It grew, now what do I do?

The light has been troubling me what size will I need I heard references to anything up to 400w and 80w, I am grasping it all has something to do with lumens but what size do I need (you may have answered me this question already but I just need some clarity, donâ??t want to make any mistakes),

Sorry for double post, wouldnt let me edit

sensi star is a good indoor strain. if timing is an issue, find strains that have shorter flowering periods.

i have an hps 250 w over eight plants. this is enough because the grow cabinet is very small and the light is reflected very efficiently from the dull side of tin foil. I've never used cfl's but I have read that the more light the better and to keep the lamps within 2 inches of the foliage which requires a lot of daily adjusting. If they are growing in a bigger space, the light would radiate away and be wasted, so the smaller area the better, assuming you can get good ventilation.
I don't know if what I supplied here will be useful but there u have it

Re: It grew, now what do I do?

Well I have a basic set up at least now, which as allot more than I had when this tread was started, I have a 20w cfl bulb (equivalent to 100w) One question I did have is it better to leave the plant under the cfl during daylight hours or just put it in some direct sunlight outside

how many plants doesn't matter what matters is square footage 50 watts or more a square foot is ideal.so 400 watts 2 by 3 or a little bigger 600 watt 4 by 3 1000 watts 5 by 4.get th e idea?hopefullt that is some help.as far as a strain do you like stuck to the couch highs or active highs?afghani or romulan for the couch and thai or haze for active.thai and haze take about 3 to 4 weeks longer to mature so keep that in mind.maybe a mix like skunk or northern lights crossed with haze.both highly recomended.good luck and looking forward to seeing what you pick.

Re: It grew, now what do I do?

For a good starter light, any 250 watt HPS will produce pretty good results. Hydrofarm makes a really simple integrated ballast for like $250 new. I found mine used for $75. As long as you have ample airflow heat shouldn't be that much of a concern.

But if your thinking of getting a 250, then as long as you can move the heat along, why not just get a 400? You can produce a good 6 healthy sized plants under a 400. I say Metal Halide is a complete waste of money unless you find an amazing deal on a switchable, and even then why? After youve seen people continuously harvest INSANE bud with straight HPS and get the prety much same results with MH...

How long does the plant have to stay in the 12/12 light stage before it starts to show its sex?

Re: It grew, now what do I do?

Basically I have now but myself a grow box, its about 50" tall and 30" square. It has three cfl bulbs in there each 20 watts at the moment the plant is propped up to be closer to the light, whatâ??s the best distance from the lights? I have measured my plant and it is now just less than 17". I thought that now would be the right time to change the light cycle to 12/12 how long does it take to show sex? Once the light cycle has changed how long approx to the harvest. Sorry for the multiple posts I have now condensed my questions into one post all help gre/app
