Homemade Carbon Scrubber from OG...please look
Here is a link to a saved DIY Carbon Scrubber. Seems good, but I am not clear on a couple of things as I have never had to use one, hence never seen one! LOL
http://www.hg420.com/showthread.php?...=carbon+filter
In a synopsis I see I have a cylinder of hardware cloth and then another cylinder of hardware cloth with in. I assume the carbon fills the gap between the two. If this is the case, is the poly fill being put into the very center core (from end to end) or is it with the carbon and just at the ends? How am I to get the outer layer of panty hose to attach? If only the clamp holds the end cap and the panty hose down, will they rip or does it just stay folded over the end? Thanks for any description as the pics are small and not very resolute.:thumbsup:Methyl3 Reviewed by Methyl3 on . You are correct about where the carbon goes - I used the crystal/pearl type kitty litter myself, much cheaper and easier to get and just (?) as efficient.
The polyfill is like a "cap" on the carbon, just on the ends, so it doesnt move and stays compacted - the center is totally empty and is where you pull air through (or push air into)
Make sure you get metal hardware cloth that is plastic coated, so the pantyhose slides better - you can use 2 on top of each other if you put a run in them
GO to Lane Bryant, Or Catherines, or any local "PLus Size" womans shop, and get the biggest pair of pantyhose they have Size F (5'3"-5'9", 400-450 lb)
.. (Hehe the lady looked at me when I asked and said "Sir, these would be way too big on you!")
They won't rip if you are careful pulling them over the shell, but you can double them up if ya rip em - just costs 2x.. the foot of the panties will be on the bottom, and the top is held up by the hoseclampWe CAN stamp out Glaucoma in our lifetime

if you havent started this yet I highly recommend the can filter 2600..
http://www.wormsway.com/detail.asp?sku=CF0062
MSRP is $59.99 and you can find it for less! It is way more sturdy than that design posted above.. I own one and love it.. check the ratings on it too.. super good.. It has 12lb of activated carbon.. compaired to...
"Three 28oz jars" (5.25lb)
my rec... dont waste your time and money! order the original can filter.. you will NOT be disappointed!

definatly.. because you have to realize that that cfm rating is based on unrestricted suction and the can filter WILL restrict suction.. Im using an el cheapo 400cfm (or so they say) fan suckin on that 2600 filter and I can tell that it cant be more than 100cfm comin thru.. when I had the fan sitting on a table and fired it up It almost propelled itself across the freaken table.. attached to the filter it is much more reasonable.. buy a fan that well exceeds the rating of the filter.. unless its a really good fan like the can fans and then only exceed by about 25-50% I think it is.
Somewhere I heard it works better to suck thru the filter than blow thru it.. but Im not sure.. could be.. I know the dust sock is on the outside.. my plan was to turn the $25 fan I got whichever way worked best (which i figured was gunna be blow thru) and it turned out that it sucked thru just fine.
