Strange smell and what appears to be mites...

Two of my plants have a strange kind of foul, dirt-like smell...but the growth is fine and the trichomes are coming in nicely. The other three plants smell quite strong and don't seem to have any problems either. Is this because of some kind of build up in the soil? I just flushed my plants one week ago and then started to notice this smell the past couple days.

Also, I just checked on my plants and on one of the budsites there appears to be little white dots all over the leaves! I have absolutely no access to something like a pyrthium fogger, neem oil, etc...so I guess I am going to try the organic recipes I found on the message boards. I am going into the fifth week of flowering and the plants were just starting to fill out and generate crystals...

Any ideas about the smell?

I saw a little clearish-yellow bug on top of one of the leaves with white spots and killed it...

Also, the plants that smell kind of grassy or soil-ish aren't producing as many crystals.

I searched the fourms...maybe I am not very good at it, but I didn't see much about my particular question regarding the smell...I suppose it's some kind of nutrient problem? Please let me know what you think...
