i cant stand the one where the chick is laying on the couch and shes flat and her friend is there saying like "she cant talk because ever since she started to smoke pot all we ever do is sit here and do nothing. great isnt it?" it pisses me off because thats just straight up lying to your face. i mean, who ever smoked weed a few times and then became completely paralized? shit when im blazed i like to go out and do stuff not just sit around. fuck that.

Yeah the commercials are stupid...but they are so over the top that most people know they are bullshit.

I think he should just take it like Harold and Kumar where they show that violent commercial and it flashes "Marijuana Kills!" and theyre just cracking up laughing. Thats what we do whenever one of those commercials comes on while blazed :-p

Yeah, it's just like those "Truth" commercials. Their have been no factual studies done on cigarettes. Their statistics are all computer based.

I'm not deying that cigarettes can cause cancer, I'm just saying the numbers are exagerated.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. There is nothing wrong with peer pressure. Everybody belongs to some social group and adopts many of the societal norms they find their peers following. For example, why do so many teenagers skateboard, dye their hair, or use the latest slang words? Because they enjoy doing those activities with their friends and they consciously chose to do it out of their own will. It's not like people are being forced into following societal norms; it's just what humans tend to do because we are social creatures who like to have a sense of belonging. Smoking pot is no different. If someone consciously chooses to smoke pot because his friends all seem to be having a good time with it, what is wrong with that? He's not harming anyone else, and nobody is going to beat him up if he refuses (if someone is threatening to beat him up, then the ethical issue is not peer pressure but violent threats, which is a different ballpark). Everyone should be able to do as they please so long as nobody else gets hurt in the process, no matter what their motives are in doing the activity they have chosen to do.

I don't like peer pressure. I don't like watching kids follow other kids, and I was a part of a trend for a long time.

Then again, we may come from different sides of the fence. Had I given into peer pressure, I probably wouldn't smoke weed now and be in law school or something. I would hate it, and it wouldn't be me, but it's what I would be doing had I not made my own decisions and stop hanging out with large groups of people.

I'm so much more happier now then I was back then. Then again, those were akward teenage years, so maybe that's it too.
