    First indoor grow

Whats up everybody? I'm getting ready to start a grow that I can finally finish. The last two times, my dogs have torn up the girls, but this time I've got em somewhere safe. Anyway, I have something like 28 germinating seeds, of which I'm hoping for 14 girls. No special strains or genetics to speak of, just bag seed out of especially tasty bags I come across. For soil, I'm getting a few bags of basic soil w/perlite from wal-mart, and I plan on serving low dosages of miracle grow as fertilizer in veg. I'm wanting to keep the plants short and stocky (maybe 24" - 36"), for lighting all I have is two 4' shoplights w/ two bulbs each, two CFL bulbs on worklights, and two 2' gro-lux fixtures. I was wondering if that is sufficient light to take 28 plants through veg, and no more than 14 females through flowering. I realize HPS/MH bulbs would be preferable, but I'm a bit strapped for cash, to the point in fact where I'm using 2 litre bottles and buckets with holes in the bottom as pots.

I was wondering how long of a grow it will be, and if any one could offer me an idea of what kind of yield I'm looking at. thanks in advance

You are looking at 6-8 weeks from seedlings until flowering, and then 7-10 weeks in flowering. 1 week to dry, and 1-2 weeks to cure. So it could be as short as 14 weeks but likely longer. Those lights will never cut it for 28 plants. CFL's and other fluoros are fine for the beginning 2 weeks, but after that you really need to invest in something a little bigger IF you want to grow all those plants. Some people will tell you that you can grow 3 or 4 plants under CFL's depending on the strength of them. Ditch the Miracle Gro, and find a better fertilizer. Do a search on this board for Miracle Gro, and you will find 99% of people here reccomend against using it. Good luck on your grow, may you produce enough bud to keep you high until your next harvest.

Thanks. Unfortuanetly for me buying more lighting really isn't an expense I can spare right now. Would it be a little more feasible if I were to cut it down to say seven plants and add a few more 4' shoplights (I've probably got 5 un-used fixtures in the garage.)? I'm not terribly concerned about having a gigantic harvest or anything like that. I'd just like to have some tasty dank to chief on when theres no weed in town. Would something like a 1/2oz - 3/4oz per plant be unrealistic under fluoros with 7 plants?

As soon as I find all my camera cables I'll turn this post into a grow diary.

For less than $20 you can add in 1 more of those 2 bulb 4' flouros.... You could probably find them cheaper if you went searching around town, or maybe in your garage or attic...I have a couple laying around in my garage. But at HD like $8 for the fixture, and $8 for the bulbs. Get as many as you can and surround the plants in light. they are not especially bright. Or you can use those as side lighting and get a couple CFLs (about the same cost) for top lighting.

I am sure you could get 2-3 plants with those 2 lights. But don't expect a lot of bud.

About the Miracle Grow.....make sure you check the pH of the water....and (IMO) do not use it full strength. And don't use it every watering....like every 2nd or 3rd. your plants will tell you when it is needed.
