mad5387 Reviewed by mad5387 on 07-16-2006. Would beer have an effect on my plants? I had a seedling with a long skinny stem and very small leaves that didn't look too healthy. So I ripped it out of the soil and put it in a half-full beer bottle as a joke like it was a vase. I forgot about it for a few days and when I saw it again, it was still growing. The bottom leaves were holding it up and the roots were hanging in the beer. I figured it would mold eventually, so I put it back in the soil, and wet the soil down with a few more sips of beer.
