I had a seedling with a long skinny stem and very small leaves that didn't look too healthy. So I ripped it out of the soil and put it in a half-full beer bottle as a joke like it was a vase. I forgot about it for a few days and when I saw it again, it was still growing. The bottom leaves were holding it up and the roots were hanging in the beer. I figured it would mold eventually, so I put it back in the soil, and wet the soil down with a few more sips of beer. For about a week since then, my plant has survived on a mixture of water and Belgian Ale. I think my plant may be an alcoholic.

So my question is - could this have any extra positive or negative effect on the plant? I know it's just taking the water from the beer, but what about the other ingredients in there? So far it hasn't done any better or worse than a normal plant, but it is still growing.
