LOL....I'm suprised with all the great minds we have in politics that someone didn't think of this.......with the discussions that have been made concerning the vote and all.

No worries though! ALL will stay the same until Sundance states otherwise. All I can really say is kind of what Birdgirl states.....try to keep it as civil and respectful as possible.....makes for a better change of ideas.

And last but not least....the reason this thread was created was because SOMEONE decided to take their bitch to the lounge. The ONLY reason one would do that is to try to achieve a ban on another member. In the future, if you take it outside this forum, you BETTER have your shit straight or it may just come back to slap ya in the face. In other words, it will be considered as a personal attack on THAT person. If you can't play with the big dogs, go piss with the puppies.

I had to read Bong's post twice to see what he was referring to on the vote count. Then I finally mustered up the brain power to actually look at the tally. Then I saw your post, P4B. Funny! That was a good trick! I guess everyone was too busy looking and conspiracy forest to see the trees here in this thread.

This story only has to do with the topic of manners, not political moderation, but it's one of the funniest things I ever witnessed. In the retirement home in north Louisiana where my grandmother lived, there was a great Southern lady named Miss Effie. During most of her lifetime, Miss Effie was the most genteel, well-mannered, ladylike thing. Always kind and courteous, even under the most difficult circumstances.

But when she grew old and senile and went to live in the rest home, that long lifetime of ladylike manners flew out the window. Hardening of the arteries turned Miss Effie into, well, a little old sailor who could curse a blue streak. If people walked down the hall outside her room and happened to glance into it, she'd yell, "What in the G-d hell are you looking at, you wall-eyed jackass!!??" And that was some of her more tame language. Another of her favorite lines was simply to yell, at the top of her lungs, "Bring me a G-d piece of bread with some f-ing mayonnaise on it!"

I'm hoping that my lifelong advocacy for manners and civility doesn't end in the same way. But if it does, I trust I will curse a blue streak about politicians and politics, not bread and mayonnaise.

Funny story... my grandmother went that way, too. But from what I heard she could cuss with the best of them, when I wasn't around, of course. If I got that way my cursing will likely involve demands for peanut butter and jelly or pornography...

You know, in that same retirement home where my grandmother and Miss Effie were, there was an old man named Mr. Jordan. Pronounced "Jerdan" in the Southern way. During his lifetime, he was the sheriff and later the mayor. As a senile senior, he was completely lecherous, and he might well been the one who got Miss Effie started, now that I think about it. He'd creep around the halls and into old ladies' rooms when they were napping and reach under their covers and try and cop a feel. After he got where he couldn't walk anymore, he'd make his rounds in a wheelchair. My grandmother, who was also a genteel, well-mannered type, would occasionally wake up to feel a trembling old hand making its way up her leg. "What the hell are you doing in my room, Richard Jordan?" the ladies would ask . . . .

OK, enough nursing home stories. We already know the sorts of things we can look forward to in our golden years.
