Moderation poll for politics
[QUOTE=birdgirl73]
As for the low-road takers here on politics, their incivility and profanity is generally an indicator that they don't have the intellectual capability to articulate themselves in any other way. Yes, political discussions get heated. But in the rules of debate or in a conversation in someone's living room, which is what I think this is like, I have to hope people wouldn't get so out of control.
Manners and civility say a lot about people. QUOTE]
I voted for the laxed rules, altho I do see your opinion here to be very valid.
Espeascialy when it comes to useing insults instead of being able to articulate ones own opinion.
Bong, is one that I would typically say is a "bootstrapper", by that I'm betting that the saying "people just need to pull themselves up by their bootstraps" has come from his thoughts pretty often, when the topis of welfare and social reform come up.
people like this tend to see things in black and white and like to talk in absolutes. "Only the Sith speak in absolutes"- Obi Won Kenobi
As well as a whole host of other "typical" ways of thinking, the entire pattern is a work in progress for me.
Only reason I bring up bong as my example, is because the attack in the other area of the forum was made on him, and it was his language in this forum (politics), that brought on the attack, and personally I see it the same way as Bird, his non-ability to articulate himself in other manners. Altho this does not validate the attack made on him. There are other ways to handle a disagreement, to do so requires makeing a personal choice.
As much as I dont agree with flameing, I cant say that ive not been guilty of it myself.
Over the last months Ive learned a great deal about myself, and where I stand on topics I'm interested in. But the most important thing Ive learned is that I really dont "know" anything. That everything in life is subject to change at the will of whatever happens next.
Don't coral the politics forum with the same rules used in other areas, I am more than confident in my own ability to participate in an intellegent conversation, and in my ability to choose who I have, and dont have a consersation with.

Your right, I dont know anything about you.
I havent seen much of your opinions, I see the insults and move on, but what I have seen of your opinions seem to be more cut and paste, others words used to validate your insults.
This is the only reason I brought your name into this, I could have stated my case very simply without it. However, I think you should take your place at the head of the table and own your part in the reasons for this poll to begin with.
Ok, so now you are a self admitted "bootstrapper". I grew up poor, and asking my mom why we didnt have money when I was a child and why we werent on welfare, her answer was "pride". All well and good for her, but she a bootstrapper too.
And by the way, since I "know" so little about you, explain to me how it is I coined, and got you so riled up with a single phrase.
Peace

The whole point of discussing politics, in my opinion, is to get in an argument with someone...
SO, I guess what I am saying is I agree that moderation should be very limited on this fourm.

Maby we should be a little saner I don't realy enjoy most of the discussions here becuase they devole very quickly into shit throwing contests. I guess people throw shit cuase they can't throw knives but its beginning to get annoying. I guess fighting on the internet is like winning in the special olympics even if you win your still a retard. I voted no basically cuase Im hoping some of you false conservatives have a mental breakdown due to consuming too much BS or realizing its not so hard to be wrong occasionally.

Howdy Psycho4Bud,
Thanx for yer kind wordsMe and mine, are doing pretty dang good--compared to alot of folks--I tell ya what !
lol
I do agree with you,on applying some basic guidelines here, but I'm somewhat confused about what you may think of as being a 'rude pic'.
For instance,I post what some folks would call rude pics, when I post pics that are against Islam,or ones that support America and our troops, maybe you mean pics with profanity or obscenity in them ? Certainly,I don't care for them kind of pics, nor do I like any pics that depict God or Jesus,in a bad way. I'll await yer definition of 'rude pics'..then vote.
Have a good one ! :stoned:
