What's not being played very highly in the video clip above is that this is a 20-year-old story. Factor 8 and the other two widely used clotting factors for hemophilia have been well tested and safe now from AIDS contamination for more than 15 years. This tainted Factor 8 "dumping" happened back before that was the case. The age of this story doesn't make Bayer's actions any better, of course. If, as frequently happens, a big pharm company worked around the FDA in a way so as to harm innocent people in markets other than America, that's still deplorable.

But everyone reading this now ought to know this regards something that happened during the 80s and received a good bit of attention then. I'm just curious why it's a hot topic again now. Please don't make the mistake of assuming that our current blood supply and clotting factors are still tainted or unsafe, here or in other developed countries. They're safe now. (But we're all still the victims of Big Pharma, as anyone who pays for medicines knows.)
They hate america so much they will dig up any dirt to call attention to it...
