    Welcome Home Birdgirl

Hey, Onward! Thanks for the welcome back. I did have a good time, but I'm sure glad to be home. I missed my doggies like crazy, and I'm glad to be back home my own bed where they come running in too early in the morning and jump on me and wake me up.

Gosh, it was hot down on the Gulf Coast but nothing like as nasty hot as it is here. I dread our utility bill this month.

What's been going on with you?

Thanks! It was good. The beach was beautiful. I would love to live by the ocean sometime. Also, I would love to live somewhere where I never had to cook meals or do housework!!!! Those two things right there are the best thing about vacations.

We were in Destin, Florida. There are prettier beaches there than in Texas, and there were also nice golf courses nearby, which meant my husband could do his thing. Padre Island is nice, though!

I don't know of any nude beaches in Texas, but you could try doing some research on the Web. The Texas coastline tends to be pretty family-oriented. I think of nude beaches as more of a European thing!

I'm not sure if it's still the same, but Hippie Hollow in Austin used to be a clothing optional area. Last time I was there was over a decade ago, and the folks walking around were mostly people who reeeeeeeeeeeeeally needed clothes.

    Have a great weekend everyone.

That's the bad thing about nude beaches. After about the age of 25 or so, people really ought to wear clothes just out of consideration for others. Gravity is a powerful force.

No doubt about how gravity grabs us in our 30's and 40's.

Several years ago I was in Jamaica and on one beach there was a sign saying that tops were optional for ladies. There must have been five horny middle aged beer bellied losers for every woman. And the woman who were actually topless looked like prime candidates for the next issue of National Geographic magazine. Needless to say it was very disappointing. I remember one teenage kid from the states who was just staring at the few women who were in somewhat decent shape, and he was hilarious. His eyes were about to pop out of his head. I kept wondering where his mom was. He looked to be about fifteen years old and was seeing things he had NEVER seen before..

It's been said a billion times, but youth truly is wasted on the young.

It is wasted on the young! Gosh, if I had my late teens and 20s to do over again, I'd appreciate things so much more now. Like the perfect tightness of my skin or just having a youthful, healthy and lovely body. Ah, those were the days. Things aren't hopeless just yet. I work hard and maintaining myself well. But even a well maintained 44 isn't anything like it was at 21.
