Yup, gotta work. I work in a hospital kitchen, with mostly old ladies and creepy, almost elderly, virgin men. There's a few young guns though, haha. It's only part-time, cuz I need me a degree (almost 1/2way there) and I play sport.

I'm an executive speechwriter for a big high tech company, and I generally work three days a week. Sometimes more if it's busy. It's a job that pays very well, and I went to college and graduate school to learn how to do this sort of work.

In two weeks I'm saying goodbye to this job. Two weeks after that, I'm starting medical school at the ripe old age of 44. It's what I've always wanted to do, and now's a good time since they accepted me. I'm starting to get very nervous about the big changeover. But for the next eight years or so, school and/or residency will be my job. I can freelance-write if I want to make extra money, but fortunately my husband is successful and so I probably won't do that.

I don't work any 9-5 grind, and haven't since...mmm...1989 I think. During those 17 years I wrote software and operated a programming-related website which produced decent ad revenue. But that grew tiring (believe it or not), so now I'm working on writing, and have no income at all. Fortunately, the woman believes in me, and she makes plenty of money and keeps us in good stuff while I work on my writing.

Funny you mention freelance writing...I am trying to get my foot in the door right now writing stories primarily about travel experiences in Asia. Can you offer any suggestions?

    Thanks! :smokin:
