The plan, please help me evaluate

    Hi all,

Setup my cabinet, tested for temps and found out that I need a bigger space to be able to control the temp. No problem. Too bad my Santa Maria clones didnt survive this phase but thats life I guess.

So this afternoon I am getting three CW Diesel clones. The plan is to put them in a small cabinet with 4 cool white tubes (72WATTS together) to let them root. I plan to put them in soil right when I get them and put them in big enough pots so I dont need to repot them again. While these root, I will enlarge my flowering cabinet to be able to deal with the high temps.

Am I right in assuming that one week rooting in that cabinet gives them sufficient rooting to put them under the HPS?

Since it's a haze strain, I will put them on a 12/12 cycle right away as suggested by members of this board. I have a feeling it may be better to put them on 18/6 during rooting under the cool white tubes, is that true?

Thanks in advance for taking the time reading/responding. I read the faqs, I just killed three plants because of my ignorance so I'm trying to do it right now.

if you are rooting in straight potting soil i suggest using small plastic cups so the roots are easier to see. then you'll know better when to put them under the big lights. i use jiffy cubes set inside paper 'dixie cups' and when the roots grow thru the cube i know it's ready for potting and under the lights. it usually takes 2 weeks or so for mine to be fully rooted and ready for an upgrade. i also wouldn't flower a clone until it's well established in its new home...but that's me.
