Indica doing good. Sativas ... not so good. why? GK?

Hey guys. I got 2 sativas 1 indica.

Indica doing good. But sativas have these tiny buds. Its almost like there is TOO much leaf. And buds are tiny.

These were grown under exact same conditions.

here are the pics. In the first pic, you can see the sativa next to the huge budded indica. Why is this?

Its been about 47 days into flower. give or take.

    Bob,

It may be the strains that you have chosen to grow since different strains will mature at different rates and we all know that the last couple of weeks of flowering show the greatest bud development.

For example, I can finish a bacth of good Northern Lights in about 6 weeks where Thai, Haze (or some other Sativa) might take as long as 10 weeks to finish.

Sativas do not seem great "cash croppers" unless you're growing 12 ft tall plants outside on a pot farm.

Yeah, I used bag seed for my first grow. I just saved some good seeds from some good stuff. This is what I happened to get. And actually looking at it. I have 3 different strains.

The 2 sativas im perplexed about. I can tell the indica will be done in a few weeks. So im giving it some CHA-CHING. But seeing as I have no clue when the sativas will mature, im not sure if they should get CHA-CHING also. I do have some brown hairs on my sativas. looks to be about 30 percent or more brown.

Any ideas as to a nute schedule for these late bloomers? Im using foxfarms everything.

Thx icebelowfreeze :} Its a 400w hps. switchable ballast. so they had MH in veg.

P.S. Do my sativas look small for their age? I mean bud development? two more weeks and it will be 60 days of flower.

You're going to see lighter, fluffier buds that take a lot longer to mature on a sativa, with higher leaf mass:bud mass ratio.

Ah ok. So these look fine? I just didnt expect so much leaf.

But thx on the 10 week timer. I was wondering how much longer it might go.
Guess Ill keep looking at the trichomes. I think I need a better magnifiyer.

most growers with selling in mind tend to stay away from sativas because as you already see, they dont yield as much as indicas, but some people i know grow sativa varieties for there own stash, imo, the sativa highs are much better, so dont give up on the sativas, Im sure it will be worth the wait. :stoned:

Thx :} I wont give up. Although I honestly thought I messed up on those sativas. They just look pitiful compared to the indica.

Anyone got any pics of a fully developed or ripened sativa? I would love to see how it should look.

p.s. nice quotes u got there Alpha

Hey Bob- I was curious if you can tell me all the nutes/hormones you are using for your veg and your flowering and anything else you might be using so I know what I need to buy. also, are you following the feeding chart that fox farm gave you or what? I am growing 4 sativas and now I know I am going to have to top mine now because they are already getting tall. That sux that sativas arent good for much bud unless grown outside. I have sum seeds from Nirvana coming in 2 weeks or so and I wanted to have the proper nutes to grow sum Papaya and bubblicious. Hopefully I get a cool freebie mix.
