Well, I'd say 95% of the thc is absorbed within 5-8 seconds. Personally, I exhale after 5. Some people will hold hits for ridiculous amounts of time and claim to get higher. What really is happening is oxygen deprivation

However, I'm sure you would still get high if you hit it, inhaled then exhaled pretty much instantly. I would hold it for 5 seconds though.

It takes 4 seconds for THC to be absorbed into the bloodstream... anything more is just unnessecary lung damage.

ive read as much as 20, but i think its more of a prank on new smokers lol.
holding it just makes oyu cough.
but THC needs to be absorbed too.
so i would say five
but with a bong, you get a more potent smoke (if its thick and white from a pipe, then its smoke with everything still in it) but in a bong alot of the tar and stuff is removed, so you get more THC psi that a pipe. so i want to make sure most is absorbed

as far as vaping, hold it for as long as possible, i guess.

i do a standard, which gets longer as i get more stoned, its just how long it feels comfortable in my lungs, probably 7 seconds or so.
