Don't wanna smoke anymore!!

Hey all, i just wanted to share this with you guys and get it off my chest...

My friend, who got me started on weed, has recently decided to stop smoking weed and stop doing pretty much any other type of drug...now, we're quite good mates, but the thing that really binded us was weed, can't think of anybody else that i've enjoyed a joint with more...AND to top it all he's started drinking quite a lot and i think it's pretty fucked up to drop one "bad habbit" for another one, especially alcohol for that matter...

The thing is that i'm not so sure that i wanna go around there quite as much as i used to cos nowwe'll just be sitting around having a few drinks and chat about ???...and i don't like drinking that much anymore so that makes it even worse...

So do guys think i'm a bad friend for saying this and wanting to see the guy on a less regular basis...

You're not a bad person for not wanting to drink. I think perhaps your friend is leaning on the alcohol to replace the weed. This could be a phase, just as weed was for him. Maybe when you hang out with him, you could smoke a joint while he has his few drinks. This way, you're both feeling comfortable and neither of you is indulging in something you don't want to, you see? Unless he's the type of person who no longer even wants to be around weed... But if the problem is that you really just don't enjoy yourself anymore when you guys hang out, then it's time to look closer into the friendship and figure out what it's truly based on. If the only thing you had in common was smoking, then taking that away is obviously going to strain things.

noooo my mate did the same dgave up weed but started to drink more...im not much of a drinker myself and rather get stoned than drunk....anyway the point is we r still gud mates coz at the end of the day we both did a comperimse we'd drink a little and smoke a ittle....then we r all happy,,,plus he cudnt completley ive up weed i new he cudnt mwhahahaha

Yeah, I've got a good idea my mate can't give it up either, specially with such a "supportive" friend as myself...but i don't wanna tempt the guy, if he wants to give it up i'm fine with it...i'd just be sad as hell, but hey, what can you do...
