lol bro chill out your setup sound fine 40 bucks is more than enouf to get you going... go out and buy some potting soil although go one that dousnt look like it came out of someones driveway... make sure you germinate your seeds b4 putting them in the ground i find paper towel method is the easiest... with your fan flouros dont put off much heat so you shouldnt need much ventalation leaving a fan on for a few hours a day should be fine.... unless your growing in a realy confined space you shouldnt need to worry about heat and crap a closet is more than enouf space for flouros with tap water depending on where you live you should leave it in a bottle or something with the lid off for a day or so before useing it other than that you should be fine man.... if you want some picks of plants grown under flouros ill show you mine just remember to keep them close to the lights .. about 4 centimetres other than that happy growing!!!

if you're serious about gardening you have to learn first how to look things up on your own...especially when it comes to the basics, such as germination. there are several ways of going about it so i suggest you type it into the search engine here and read...google is another source that will plug you into many sites offering answers that are already typed out and waiting for you...

Or he can read up on posts and threads in here. I use paper towel method and a cup o-water method. both effective but the cup-o-water works easier for me. Fill a cup about half way with tap water, let sit 1 day throw seeds in. Put cup in a cool, dark place and check on the seeds in afew days or so and you should see the drop to the bottom, but I wait till I see a little root action. I then use tweazers/spoon to gently remove seeds and make sure you dont touch the root and plant the root downwards about 1/4 into soil. Do NOT have ANY(NONE) lights on pots while it is in soil till you see it sprout. Once sprouted, you can add your CFL's(flourescent lights) above sprouts about an inch or 2 away from the top of your sprout. keep an eye on the sprout because youll need to raise lights.

yeah, he could do that but it gets hard to ask the right questions when one doesn't know what to ask about or what the terms mean. and it takes far less time to use a search engine with one or two words than for someone to retype everything he's going to be reading anyway.
